Lotte Mart said Thursday it is promoting the revitalization of the tourism industry in Tongyeong and Geoje, along with cooperative partnerships for shared growth with local communities.
On the 5th of this month, Lotte Mart signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on "Revitalizing Tongyeong and Geoje Regional Tourism and Cooperative Partnership" with Tongyeong Tourism Development Corporation, Geoje Sea World, Geoje Panorama Cable Car, and Skyline Luge Korea at the culture center of its Geoje branch.
A total of seven people attended the signing ceremony, including Bae Jang-ho, head of Lotte Mart's Southwestern Yeongnam region; Kim Hyun-seung, director at Tongyeong Tourism Development Corporation; Jung Min-ju, deputy manager at Geoje Sea World; Jin Geun-ho, team leader at Geoje Panorama Cable Car; and Shin Dong-yeob, division head at Skyline Luge Korea.
Under the agreement, customers presenting receipts from purchases made at Lotte Mart's Tongyeong or Geoje branches can receive various discount benefits at the region's major tourist facilities until October 31. Notably, Geoje Sea World offers a 20% discount on admission and experience tickets to customers presenting a receipt for purchases of 10,000 won or more, while Geoje Panorama Cable Car offers up to a 3,000 won discount on general and crystal cabin fares. Skyline Luge Korea provides discounts on passes and annual memberships to customers presenting a receipt for purchases of 50,000 won or more.
Through this collaboration with tourist attractions in the Tongyeong, Geoje, and Yeosu regions, Lotte Mart plans to maximize synergy between tourism and shopping, building a shared-growth model that contributes to local economic development while expanding store visitor traffic.
"This MOU is a cooperative partnership model in which the regional tourism industry and the retail sector can together expand customer benefits and contribute to revitalizing the local economy," said Bae Jang-ho, head of Lotte Mart's Southwestern Yeongnam region. "We will continue to work to expand various cooperation cases that link local attractions with our stores."
