The stocks most heavily bought by high-return investors trading at Mirae Asset Securities (006800.KS) on Wednesday were SK Networks, Jusung Engineering, and APlus Bio, in that order.
According to Mirae Asset Securities on Wednesday, the stock most heavily purchased by "stock masters" — clients ranking in the top 1% of investment returns over the past month — as of 11 a.m. that day was SK Networks. SK Networks traded at 13,780 won at the same time, up 18.08% from the previous session.
The stock masters are believed to have focused on SK Networks' recent shift toward an artificial intelligence (AI)-centered business and expectations for improved earnings. SK Networks has recently strengthened its strategy of integrating AI across major business areas including robotics, hotels, and information and communications. In particular, attention is being drawn to its expansion of the robot business centered on the wellness robot "A1," unveiled by its subsidiary SK Intellix.
Lee Sang-heon, an analyst at iM Securities, said, "In line with SK Group's AI transition strategy, the robot business will emerge as a key growth axis," adding, "As overseas expansion based on wellness robots becomes visible, growth potential could accelerate further." SK Networks' operating profit this year is forecast to reach 128.1 billion won, up 48.4% from a year earlier.
The second most net-bought stock was semiconductor equipment maker Jusung Engineering. Jusung Engineering traded at 236,500 won at the same time, down 3.67%. The buying is interpreted as bargain hunting as the stock entered a pause following its recent sharp rise. Jusung Engineering has expanded its business areas from semiconductor equipment to display and solar equipment. In particular, it is expected to benefit from the advancement of semiconductor processes based on its core atomic layer deposition (ALD) technology.
In contrast, the most net-sold stock was Samsung Electronics. Samsung Electronics traded at 333,000 won at the same time, up 11.37%. The second most net-sold stock was SK hynix, which rose 7.81% to 2,265,000 won. The fact that Samsung Electronics, which ranked among the top net-bought stocks among the masters the previous day, appeared at the top of the net-sold list on this day is analyzed as the effect of profit-taking following a short-term sharp rise.
In the previous session, the top net-bought stocks were Samsung Electronics, NAVER, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, in that order. The top net-sold stocks were HD Hyundai Electric, SK hynix, and VM, in that order.
