Samsung Electronics' (005930.KS) Device eXperience (DX) division will fully adopt global generative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions into its work systems. With Samsung formalizing an AI transformation across all affiliates, the DX division, where software work is increasing, also plans to completely overhaul its organization-wide working methods and decision-making speed using AI.
On Tuesday, Samsung Electronics' DX division said it will officially open external generative AI services on its internal infrastructure for employees starting Wednesday. As a result, DX division employees will be able to freely use OpenAI's "ChatGPT," Google's "Gemini Enterprise," and Anthropic's "Claude" interchangeably through the company network.
The most notable feature of this adoption is that it builds a multi-AI ecosystem rather than relying on a single AI model. The company has created an environment in which employees can select the best-performing AI according to the characteristics and purpose of their work, such as translation, coding, document summarization, and market data analysis. The intent is to support every employee in maximizing work efficiency by wielding the optimal tool.
Ahead of this official adoption, Samsung Electronics conducted field tests and service effectiveness verification on generative AI candidates with some 2,500 employees over several months. In this process, the company selected three leading global services that earned the highest satisfaction in the workplace and had verified security and mass-production reliability, then implanted them into the internal system.

Samsung Electronics' DX division decided to integrate external generative AI throughout its work—on the premise of thorough internal security guidelines—to respond a step ahead to changing conditions in the global home appliance and mobile markets. Behind the move is a strategic judgment to move beyond improving individual work efficiency by incorporating generative AI, to raising the entire organization's business execution capability and securing a clear advantage in the global business war.
Roh Tae-moon, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics, declared, "Adopting external generative AI goes beyond simply providing new work tools; it is the starting point for fundamentally changing the way we work and our speed of execution." Roh added, "By creating an environment in which every employee can freely use the AI architecture most suited to their job, we will elevate not only individual productivity but also the system competitiveness of the entire organization by another level."
In the home appliance and IT industry, Samsung Electronics' move is interpreted as a case demonstrating its will to perfectly resolve security concerns such as internal technology leaks while advancing the organization's character toward a software focus. Samsung Electronics plans to continuously upgrade its AI service policies and guidelines by receiving real-time feedback on the characteristics of various job functions and organizational requirements.
