Dongwon Group announced Tuesday that its holding company Dongwon Industries and food affiliate Dongwon F&B each earned awards in recognition of their excellence in sustainable fisheries management and food technology, respectively.
Dongwon Industries received the newly created "Sustainable Fishery of the Year Award" at the 5th MSC Korea Awards held the same day. The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) selects and recognizes companies that have contributed to advancing sustainability in the marine and fisheries sector. Dongwon Industries has won the Company of the Year Award at the MSC Korea Awards every year since 2021, and this latest win marks five consecutive years of recognition.
"Through responsible fishing activities and transparent resource management, we will build a sustainable future for the fisheries industry," a Dongwon Industries official stressed.
Dongwon F&B also won the "Grand Prize," the top honor at the "World Food Tech ConfEx 2026 (WFT26 ConfEx)," the same day. The World Food Tech ConfEx is a conference where scholars, government officials and corporate leaders in the global food technology field gather to discuss the direction of the future food industry and visions for advanced technology.
Dongwon F&B was highly evaluated for its innovative technology and global expansion potential in the blue protein (marine protein) field. Blue protein is drawing attention as a future food resource due to its low carbon emissions and high feed efficiency.
"We will advance sustainable food science technology and, through proactive research and development (R&D) investment, leap forward as a food tech company that contributes to human health," a Dongwon F&B official said.
