Kiwoom Securities (039490.KS) has launched an advertising campaign promoting the Korean stock market on the Nasdaq Tower electronic billboard in New York.
The company said Friday that it posted the message "K-POP, K-FOOD, K-BEAUTY, NOW, K-STOCK" on the external billboard of the Nasdaq Tower on the 2nd of this month, local time.
The campaign was designed to inform global investors of the changed standing of the Korean stock market. Amid the worldwide spread of K-Culture, the campaign emphasized that Korea's capital market is also an attractive market for investment.
New York is the world's financial center, where global financial firms and liquidity are concentrated. Kiwoom Securities expects the advertisement to raise awareness of the Korean stock market among local financial investment professionals and foreign investors.
Korea's capital market has recently been pushing forward with measures to strengthen market transparency and align its regulatory framework with global standards. As the competitiveness of Korean companies stands out in major industries such as semiconductors, batteries, biotech, content and platforms, interest from overseas investors has continued to grow.
"The intent is to broadly communicate that, much like Korea's representative cultural content, Korean stocks are also an asset that global investors are paying attention to," a Kiwoom Securities official said. "We will continue to focus on promoting the strength of Korean finance going forward."
