Lotte E&C held a haircut volunteer event for foreign workers at a construction site in Sejong City to mark the World Day for Cultural Diversity.
The company said Friday that it organized the "Visiting Salon" event on May 27 at the Deulmok Bridge outer ring road construction site in Sejong City, commemorating World Day for Cultural Diversity, which falls on May 20. Foreign workers account for about one-third of the workforce at the site.
CEO Oh Il-keun and other executives held a morning safety and health management meeting and conducted a safety inspection before personally joining the volunteer activities in the afternoon. Wearing work clothes instead of a suit, Oh draped gowns over the workers and took charge of cleaning the interior. Other executives handed out beverages and snacks.
"There are no borders when it comes to the sweat shed at our sites," a Lotte E&C official said. "We will continue to expand warm communication and coexistence programs that workers can feel firsthand, building a safer workplace."
