The most heavily net-bought stocks among high-return investors trading on Mirae Asset Securities (006800) on Wednesday morning were Samsung Electronics (005930), Hyundai Mobis (012330) and PS Electronics (332570).
According to Mirae Asset Securities, Samsung Electronics was the most-purchased stock through 11 a.m. by "stock super-experts" — the top 1% of Mirae Asset Securities' equity-trading clients ranked by investment returns over the past month. Samsung Electronics had been the top net-sold stock among these traders only a day earlier, flipping to the top net-buy position in a single session.
Samsung Electronics shares rose as high as 319,000 won during the session and were holding a gain of 3% to 4%. SK hynix (000660) closed up 2.05% the previous day while Samsung Electronics fell 2.44%, but SK hynix has been underperforming on Wednesday. As easing geopolitical risks in the Middle East lifted sentiment across the market, flows have shifted toward Samsung Electronics, whose recent gains had been more limited than those of SK hynix.
Samsung Electronics announced Wednesday that it had become the world's first to begin shipping samples of HBM4E, the seventh-generation product in its high-bandwidth memory (HBM) lineup, a key component for the artificial intelligence (AI) industry. Samsung's HBM4E simultaneously applies the 10-nanometer-class sixth-generation DRAM and 4nm foundry process that were validated in the previous HBM4. After becoming the world's first to mass-produce and ship HBM4 (sixth generation) in February this year, the company is preemptively supplying samples of the next-generation product just three months later, moving to cement its leadership in the next-generation AI memory market.
Hyundai Mobis ranked second in net buying. Hyundai Mobis shares rose as high as 780,000 won during the session, marking a 52-week high. The stock has been on a strong rally on the Korean market recently as it gains recognition as a physical AI value-chain company.
Shinhan Securities raised its target price for Hyundai Mobis to 900,000 won in a report the previous day. "Investors should note that the company can be re-rated as part of the physical AI value chain, beyond being a traditional auto parts maker," said Park Kwang-rae, an analyst at Shinhan Securities. "If Boston Dynamics' Atlas sales reach 50,000 units in 2030, robot actuator revenue of more than 2 trillion won could be achieved in the same year."
Third on the net-buying list was KOSDAQ-listed PS Electronics. PS Electronics, a wireless communications components maker, listed on KOSDAQ in 2020 and has a market capitalization of around 500 billion won. PS Electronics shares were down around 4%, with no news or disclosures identified that would influence the stock price.
Top net-sold stocks Wednesday morning included Hyundai Motor, Samsung Electro-Mechanics (009150) and Samsung Electronics preferred shares (005935). The previous day's top net-bought stocks were Hantec (098070), Hyundai Mobis and LG CNS (064400), while top net-sold stocks included Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics and LG Energy Solution (373220).
