
Medical artificial intelligence (AI) company Lunit (328130.KQ) has launched an AI-based PD-L1 biomarker solution with Leica Biosystems, a global leader in cancer diagnostics and digital pathology, the company said on the 27th.
Lunit and Leica signed a partnership agreement in March of this year to jointly develop digital pathology solutions. As the first outcome of that collaboration, the companies have launched "Lunit SCOPE PD-L1 CAL10," a solution that explores and analyzes the PD-L1 biomarker in non-small cell lung cancer for research purposes.
The solution is optimized for Leica's PD-L1 antibody "CAL10" and provides rapid, quantitative analysis of the lung cancer biomarker PD-L1 CAL10. It is designed to reduce evaluation variability among readers and shorten diagnosis and analysis times, thereby enhancing consistency and efficiency.
Lunit SCOPE PD-L1 CAL10 can be deployed immediately through an integrated workflow linked to Leica's Aperio GT 450 digital pathology scanner.

"Our long-term goal is to help researchers utilize AI solutions more efficiently."

Meanwhile, Lunit's first-quarter revenue on a consolidated basis came in at 24 billion won, up 25% from a year earlier. Overseas revenue rose 29% year-on-year to 23.2 billion won, accounting for 97% of total revenue and driving the performance. Revenue from the cancer diagnostics business segment increased 22% from the same period last year to 22.3 billion won.
