Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) on Thursday unveiled four new 2026 Odyssey gaming monitors, including the "Odyssey G8" supporting 6K ultra-high resolution.
The new lineup consists of the 6K ultra-high-resolution "Odyssey G8 (G80HS)," the "Odyssey G8 (G80HF)" with 5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 180Hz, the 4K organic light-emitting diode (OLED) "Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH)" with a refresh rate of up to 240 hertz (Hz), and the 32-inch 4K OLED "Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH)" featuring dual mode.
The 32-inch "Odyssey G8 (G80HS)" supports 6K (6144×3456) resolution. Based on ultra-high-resolution image quality, the product enhances detailed expression and immersion in gaming scenes.
The product supports a "dual mode" that allows users to switch between a 6K·165Hz ultra-high-resolution mode and a 3K·330Hz ultra-high-refresh-rate mode according to game genre and environment. Users can utilize the 6K mode for action games where graphic detail matters, and the 3K·330Hz mode for first-person shooter (FPS) and racing games where fast screen transitions are key.
The 27-inch "Odyssey G8 (G80HF)" supports 5K (5120×2880) resolution and a refresh rate of up to 180Hz. This product also supports dual mode, achieving up to 360Hz at QHD resolution, making it suitable for games requiring fast response times and smooth screen transitions.

Both products are equipped with DisplayPort 2.1 and support NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certification and AMD FreeSync Premium. This reduces stuttering and tearing even in high-spec games. The "HDR10+ GAMING" technology has also been applied to analyze game scenes and frames and deliver three-dimensional HDR image quality.
HDR10+ GAMING operates only when an HDMI 2.1 cable is connected to the HDMI port of an NVIDIA or Intel graphics card. As a result, usage may be limited depending on PC specifications and cable standards.
Samsung Electronics is also releasing new gaming monitors with OLED panels, accelerating its push into the premium gaming monitor market.
The "Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH)" comes in two sizes, 27-inch and 32-inch. It supports 4K (3840×2160) resolution and a refresh rate of up to 240Hz, targeting gamers who want both high image quality and high refresh rates simultaneously.
The product enhances gaming immersion with a "Glare Free" feature that reduces light reflection. It also supports DisplayPort 2.1 and 98W USB-C charging, strengthening connectivity and ease of use.
The new products also incorporate "QD-OLED Penta Tandem" technology. According to Samsung, this significantly improves panel energy efficiency, lifespan, and luminance. In particular, the 32-inch "Odyssey OLED G8" is certified with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, delivering deep black expression and precise contrast ratios.
The 32-inch 4K OLED model "Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH)" supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. This product features a dual mode that allows users to select an FHD·330Hz high-refresh-rate mode.
Retail prices are set at 1.89 million won for the 32-inch 6K "Odyssey G8 (G80HS)," 1.19 million won for the 27-inch 5K "Odyssey G8 (G80HF)," 1.75 million won for the 32-inch "Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH)," 1.55 million won for the 27-inch "Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH)," and 1.39 million won for the 32-inch "Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH)."

"These new products set a new standard for the monitor market based on ultra-high-resolution technology including 6K and OLED innovation," said Lee Heon, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business. "We will continue to enhance our competitiveness in the global monitor market with the Odyssey lineup at the center."
According to market research firm IDC, Samsung Electronics ranked first in the global gaming monitor market in 2025 with an 18.9% revenue share for products with refresh rates of 144Hz or higher. In the OLED monitor market, it has also maintained the top position for three consecutive years with a 26% revenue share.
Separately, Samsung Electronics is operating permanent experience zones for the 2026 Odyssey G8 gaming monitors at "Maple Azit" in Gangnam, Seoul, and "T1 Base Camp" in Mapo to expand contact with gamer customers.
The experience zones are equipped with the 32-inch "Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH)" and the 32-inch "Odyssey G8 (G80HS)." Consumers can directly use the latest Odyssey gaming monitors and experience a gaming environment based on high resolution and high refresh rates.
