Hansol Paper (213500) held the awards ceremony for its 8th Inspire Award at a hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on Saturday, the company said Sunday. The Inspire Award is Korea's first paper design award, spotlighting designs and creations made with paper materials. Inspire is the brand name of fancy paper produced by Hansol Paper.
A total of 538 print, package and design works made with paper were submitted to this year's award. Following review, 26 works won honors, including the top Inspire Award, the Black Paper Award, the Golden Paper Award, the Young Designer Award, the Special Award and the Sustainability Award.
In particular, the "Creative Leadership Award" was newly established this year. The award was created to spotlight companies and brands that effectively convey their unique identities using paper and design, while contributing to raising the status of K-culture on the global stage.
The ceremony also highlighted the importance of paper selection in achieving high-quality design. This year's award-winning works made extensive use of various Hansol Paper products, including Inspire's flagship product lineup as well as Protego, SC(N) and Cloud, helping to bring out the concept and expressiveness of each work.
The total prize money for the Inspire Award is 21 million won, with the top Inspire Award granting 10 million won in the general division and 5 million won in the student division. In addition, the top five works will receive support for entry fees to the Red Dot Design Award, one of the world's three major design awards, and a total of 100 million won worth of Inspire products will be provided so that winners can experience Inspire products firsthand.
"The Inspire Award, which began as Korea's first paper design award, has established itself as an important platform that connects people, brands and the world, going beyond paper as a mere material, thanks to the support of many people," said Han Kyung-rok, CEO of Hansol Paper. "Going forward, Hansol Paper plans to continue supporting diverse creative activities and the development of the design industry, while continuously expanding the new possibilities and sustainable value of paper."
