
S-Oil (010950) will unveil an immersion cooling solution for data centers in partnership with Global Standard Technology (GST) at HVAC KOREA 2026, a comprehensive mechanical equipment exhibition held at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, from Nov. 13 to 15, the company said Thursday.
At the exhibition, S-Oil will supply its "S-OIL e-Cooling Solution," an immersion cooling fluid optimized for data center environments, while GST will provide immersion cooling equipment, together delivering an integrated solution that can efficiently control heat from high-performance artificial intelligence (AI) and computing servers. Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to present next-generation thermal management technology that can address surging power consumption and heat issues at data centers.
Developed in-house by S-Oil, the "S-OIL e-Cooling Solution" is a specialty cooling fluid that can be applied across a wide range of high-heat environments, including not only data centers but also energy storage systems (ESS) and electric vehicle (EV) batteries. Immersion cooling, which submerges servers directly in a highly insulating cooling liquid, can dramatically reduce power consumption compared with conventional methods. In particular, because the cooling fluid makes direct contact with components to dissipate heat, it is well suited to operating AI servers, where stable temperature maintenance is essential.
S-Oil plans to conduct field tests of data center immersion cooling technology with GST and the Sungkyunkwan University Supercomputing Center. The company intends to verify the technology's applicability in high-performance computing environments while building a three-way integrated cooperation framework that links cooling fluid (S-Oil), equipment (GST) and real-world operating environments (Sungkyunkwan University Supercomputing Center).
"Through thermal management solutions centered on immersion cooling fluid, we will contribute to improving energy efficiency in the data center industry," an S-Oil official said. "We will continue to lead the next-generation thermal management market through collaboration with various partners."
