Convenience store chain Seven-Eleven has launched a new health-focused ready-to-eat food brand called "Balancespoon," the company said Monday.
Seven-Eleven introduced the new brand under the theme "A Healthy Spoonful for Myself" as consumption trends emphasizing health, such as protein maxing and wellness, have spread recently.
According to the company, Balancespoon products are developed based on health concepts including high protein, low sugar, and low calories, while maintaining flavor through special sauces and whole-ingredient toppings. For consumer convenience, the front of each product package clearly displays the Balancespoon logo alongside total calories and protein content.
The "Balancespoon Soft-Boiled Egg Roll Sandwich," launched on the 6th, combines savory egg salad with bite-sized pieces of soft-boiled egg, delivering 13 grams of protein. Instead of the sliced bread used in conventional sandwiches, the product uses bread modeled after koppepan, a bread widely popular in Japan. On the 12th, the company will release the "Balancespoon Chicken Breast Roll Sandwich," which uses finely chopped chicken breast with whole-grain mustard sauce to reduce dryness.
Seven-Eleven plans to continue expanding the Balancespoon lineup. Starting next month, the company will introduce lunch boxes and broaden the Balancespoon assortment across its overall ready-to-eat food range.
"As more customers turn to convenience store ready meals amid high inflation, we designed Balancespoon to reflect consumer needs to enjoy even a single meal in a healthy and delicious way," a Seven-Eleven official said.
