Domestic travel product sales surged on 11Street as high oil prices and a weak won lifted demand for local trips, with hotel packages and summer home appliances driving strong early momentum at the e-commerce platform's flagship shopping event.
11Street said on Thursday that transaction volume in its domestic accommodations category during the "Grand 11th Day" event, which kicked off on the 6th, jumped more than fourfold from the opening period of last year's event.
The top-selling item was a room package at Paradise City, a five-star hotel, which logged more than 1.4 billion won in transactions on the 7th alone.
Family-oriented lodging products targeting Family Month demand also saw brisk sales. Offerings from Lotte Hotel World, Chestertons Sokcho and Kensington Resort Seorak Valley all posted gains.
Demand for summer home appliances expanded as well. The LG Whisen Objet Collection dehumidifier rang up more than 600 million won in sales during the event's first two days. Samsung's AI Q9000 multi air conditioner and LG's Tromm Objet Collection WashTower each exceeded 400 million won. All 500 units of the Mova V50 Ultra robot vacuum sold out.
E-coupons, centered on value-for-money items, also saw a sharp uptick. The Mega MGC Coffee iced americano e-coupon sold 90,000 units on the 7th, and total beverage coupon sales topped 150,000.
New member sign-ups climbed during the event. Subscriptions to the free "11Street Plus" membership roughly tripled on opening day from the previous month, while daily viewers on the live commerce platform "LIVE11" surpassed 4 million.
11Street plans to continue brand promotions with Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and Roborock, as well as live broadcasts of travel products, through the 16th.
