SP Samhwa has donated paint to improve the environment at Gongju Correctional Institution.
SP Samhwa (000390.KS) announced Thursday that it donated paint and accessories to improve the environment of a correctional facility operated by the Ministry of Justice in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province.
The donation ceremony was attended by key officials including Park Beom-soo, CPO of SP Samhwa; Kim Jin-woo, head of the Gongju branch of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office; Oh Byung-gak, warden of Gongju Correctional Institution; and Kang Seok-woo, chairman of the Ministry of Justice's Youth Crime Prevention Committee.
SP Samhwa operates the "SP Samhwa Gongju Plant" in Gongju and decided on the sponsorship to provide practical assistance beyond simple financial support as a member of the local community.
Correctional facilities, which operate 24 hours a day as enclosed spaces, are exposed to wall contamination, wear and harsh external conditions due to their nature.
Accordingly, SP Samhwa decided on the sponsorship to extend the lifespan of the building and ensure hygiene and safety.
SP Samhwa is accelerating its ESG management with "co-growth with local communities" as a core value, based on a management philosophy that a company's sustainable growth is completed only when it fulfills its social responsibility.
Recently, SP Samhwa has been expanding a public social contribution campaign with Gangwon Province and South Chungcheong Province to prepare for and respond to three major national disasters — wildfires, heat waves and heavy rain — under the banner of "Creating a Safe Korea Together."
"We hope this paint donation will meaningfully contribute not only to practical environmental improvements at the Gongju correctional facility but also to enhancing the welfare of the local community," an SP Samhwa official said. "We plan to continue expanding sincere social contribution activities based on the advanced paint and color solutions the company possesses."
