LG Evergreen Foundation, affiliated with LG Corp. (003550.KS), will host a special invitation event centered on intergenerational communication and forest relaxation to mark May's Family Month. By highlighting its barrier-free deck trail, which allows everyone from elderly visitors with limited mobility to young children to comfortably enjoy the forest, the foundation aims to expand the value of Hwadam Forest as a "lifestyle healing" space.
LG Evergreen Foundation announced Monday that it will host the "Three Generations Walking Together on the Hwadam Forest Trail" event on May 11. The event is designed to invite 2,500 family members across three generations, from grandparents to grandchildren, free of charge, offering a special experience of sharing warm conversation (和談, hwadam) in nature.
Hwadam Forest is built entirely with a gently sloped "barrier-free deck trail," allowing family members who use wheelchairs or strollers to walk without restriction. The forest also operates a mobility-support monorail, providing the convenience of safely touring the forest up to its summit.
Participating families will experience a variety of programs, including viewing the exhibition at the complex cultural space "Hwadamchae," family photo sessions, and a forest concert. The foundation plans to present every participating family with a hydrangea potted plant as a souvenir, allowing them to continue their forest memories at home.
Hwadam Forest is a space that embodies the philosophy of the late Chairman Koo Bon-moo: "Let us create a space where people and nature breathe together." Established in 1997, LG Evergreen Foundation has served as Korea's first environmental public-interest foundation created by a major conglomerate, presenting an advanced arboretum model that preserves topography and vegetation to the maximum extent.
