KB Financial Group (105560.KS) announced Sunday that it will pursue inclusive finance by expanding employment opportunities for people with disabilities to mark the Day of Persons with Disabilities.
KB Kookmin Bank, which signed an agreement with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities in 2022 and has hired more than 30 new employees annually, plans to expand its recruitment numbers this year. In particular, the bank will newly introduce a "regular corporate experience program" and an "internship recruitment" initiative.
KB Insurance plans to newly identify 11 job positions dedicated to people with disabilities this year to enable customized placements. In addition to in-house employment, KB Securities is carrying out recruitment through "Seomseom Oksu," a program operated in cooperation with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities. Seomseom Oksu is a public-interest store where people with disabilities who have completed the agency's training programs provide free nail care services to railway passengers.
KB Financial Group is also expanding indirect employment through "Bravo Beaver," a standard workplace for people with developmental disabilities. With participation from its banking, securities and capital units, the group achieved indirect employment of 48 people as of the end of last year.
"Our goal is not simply to expand the number of hires, but to establish a culture in which talented individuals with disabilities can confidently demonstrate their expertise and be recognized for it," a KB Financial Group official said. "We will build an inclusive workplace where disabilities do not become an obstacle to work."
