Hyundai Motor Group (005380.KS) said Wednesday it will hold its inaugural "HMG Tech Talent Forum" in Silicon Valley from September 17 to 18. The forum is designed to bring together experts in emerging technology fields for exchange and talent recruitment.
Nine affiliates will take part in the event, including Hyundai Motor, Hyundai Motor America, Kia, Kia America, Hyundai America Technical Center (HATCI), Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), Boston Dynamics, Motional and 42dot. The group plans to create opportunities for direct engagement with working-level staff from each affiliate and will operate an exhibition hall showcasing the group's technological achievements.
The nine companies will also launch "HMG Global Tech Talent Recruitment," the group's first integrated hiring program. José Muñoz, Hyundai Motor CEO; Park Min-woo, head of the Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) Division at Hyundai Motor and Kia; Manfred Harrer, head of the R&D Division; and Kim Hye-in, head of Hyundai Motor Group's human resources office, will deliver keynote speeches at the forum as part of the recruitment drive. Hiring will cover seven areas: artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, autonomous driving, smart manufacturing, software/IT, batteries, and hydrogen and energy. Applications are open to graduates or prospective graduates with science and engineering majors from overseas universities, with submissions accepted until September 22.
"The forum will be a meaningful opportunity to discover outstanding talent and promote technological collaboration," said Kim Hye-in, head of Hyundai Motor's human resources office.
