The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will operate an integrated Korea Pavilion at Hannover Messe, the world's largest manufacturing exhibition, held in Germany from the 20th to the 24th, the agency announced Wednesday.
The integrated Korea Pavilion will be joined by 33 domestic companies and five organizations, including the Korea Association of Smart Enterprise. First held in 1947, the Hannover Industrial Fair has led global industrial technology trends for nearly 70 years. Under this year's theme of "industrial transformation," including artificial intelligence (AI), more than 3,000 exhibition booths from 60 countries will be set up, with over 130,000 visitors expected.
Among the participating Korean companies, 18 firms — more than half — are manufacturing solutions providers applying advanced technologies such as AI and robotics. These companies will showcase a wide range of smart manufacturing products, including autonomous driving systems, robots for in-factory transport operations, and data-based automation solutions.
To maximize the outcomes of the exhibition, KOTRA will arrange consultations between domestic and foreign companies and operate an online exhibition hall before and after the event. Potential buyers invited by KOTRA's European trade offices, as well as global industrial automation firms, are scheduled to visit the Korea Pavilion.
"With growing interest in integrating AI and robotics technologies, the Hannover Industrial Fair has become a useful overseas expansion platform for companies involved in M.AX (Manufacturing AI Transformation)," KOTRA President Kang Kyung-sung said. "We will actively support Korean companies, which have strengths in the manufacturing and ICT sectors, so they can become leading players in the M.AX era."
