
Oncocross (382150) announced on the 10th that it has appointed Park Jong-bae, a professor at Kyung Hee University and leading authority in proteomics analysis, as Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President.
Vice President Park is a researcher who has published 111 papers in the proteomics analysis field and has had numerous research achievements published in top-tier global academic journals. In March 2024, he served as corresponding author on a study published in Cancer Cell, an oncology journal with an impact factor of 44.5, which conducted integrated proteo-genomic analysis of glioblastoma evolution.
While serving as a professor at Kyung Hee University College of Medicine, Vice President Park has led proteome-based disease research and biomarker development. He has built networks spanning both academia and industry through roles including Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation at the National Cancer Center, Head of the Proteo-Genomics Research Project, and Korean Representative to the Scientific Committee of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
With this appointment, Oncocross plans to accelerate its proteomics analysis business. The company intends to expand into high-value-added analysis areas including targeted protein degradation (TPD), antibody-drug conjugates (ADC), multi-antibody analysis, and specialized protein analysis, while building a structure that connects analysis data to platform and new drug development.
Vice President Park will be responsible for securing actual patient-derived data through proteome-based precision analysis and connecting this to disease mechanism analysis, biomarker discovery, and mechanism of action (MoA) interpretation. This role is critical in transitioning beyond simple contract research organization (CRO) services to a data-driven, high-value-added business.
In particular, Oncocross has decided to build the foundation for a "digital biobanking" business based on high-quality patient data accumulated through proteomics analysis. The company plans to build large-scale multi-omics data assets integrating clinical, genomic, and proteomic data to serve as core infrastructure for AI-driven drug development and precision medicine businesses. Vice President Park is also expected to contribute to securing networks with hospitals and research institutions as well as large-scale cohorts.

By combining this with Oncocross's AI technology, we will build a global-level digital biobanking foundation and ensure it leads to tangible drug development outcomes."
