Goodai Global announced on the 8th that it has renamed its Japanese subsidiary from "D&ACE" to "Goodai Global Japan" and appointed Oh Dong-hun as the new representative director. The move aims to expand beyond its existing TIRTIR-focused operations into a multi-brand distribution platform and strengthen its dominance in the Japanese market.
Oh, the newly appointed CEO, is a distribution specialist who has built a solid retail network in the Japanese beauty market over the past decade. He is credited with successfully localizing major K-beauty brands including Medicube, d'Alba, Anua, Numbuzin and Fwee in the Japanese market.
With the name change and new CEO appointment as a turning point, Goodai Global Japan plans to strengthen its distribution portfolio of promising brands such as Joseon Beauty (Beauty of Joseon), Skin1004, Anov and BBIA, while diversifying its product categories. The company currently has access to approximately 13,000 offline retail locations across Japan through partnerships with key local vendors including IDA, Ohyama and Arata. It is expanding its distribution footprint by entering @cosme, Japan's largest integrated online-offline beauty platform, as well as Loft and Plaza, two of the country's leading lifestyle select shops.
The company also plans to expand its global business through strategic collaboration with Hansung USA, its distribution base in the Americas. The strategy is to serve as a distribution hub linking Asia and North America, including sourcing Japanese beauty brands and supplying them through Hansung USA's North American distribution network.
"Based on our distribution infrastructure in Japan, we will support promising beauty brands from around the world in achieving sustainable growth in the local market," Oh said. "We will maximize synergies with global networks including North America and grow into a global distribution platform that connects consumers and brands worldwide."
