Kia (000270.KS) said Thursday it was named "Best Manufacturer" at the 2026 Top Gear EV Awards, organized by British automotive publication Top Gear.
Kia was recognized for building a diverse electric vehicle lineup ranging from affordable models such as the EV2 to high-performance sport utility vehicles (SUVs) like the EV9 GT. The Best Manufacturer category was newly established this year to recognize companies leading the transition to electrification.
"Across the Kia EV range — from the EV3 and the large SUV EV9, to the sleek EV6 and the boxy PV5 — there is a common sense of well-polished completeness," said Ollie Kew, deputy editor of Top Gear. "They are building a diverse EV lineup based on reliable range, accessible performance and satisfying ride quality."
Kia won the Best Crossover EV category at the Top Gear EV Awards last year. "In recent years, Kia has been introducing a variety of electric vehicles in Europe," a Kia official said. "Through this, we have been able to meet the needs of European customers."
