KGC, formerly known as KGC Ginseng Corp., announced Thursday that it will change its corporate identity (CI) to "KGC" starting July 1. The rebranding, the company's first CI overhaul in 14 years, marks the 127th anniversary of its founding and reflects its ambition to move beyond its ginseng and red ginseng-centered business to become a global comprehensive health food company.
The new CI retains the existing design framework but shortens the name from "KGC Ginseng Corp." to "KGC." The company applied a dark gray typeface to emphasize trustworthiness and added the "Seed" symbol representing the KT&G Group to express scalability and future growth potential. The new CI will be rolled out gradually across advertisements, the company website, promotional materials and products.
Alongside the CI change, KGC is also overhauling its organizational operations. The company is introducing a "hybrid work" system that flexibly adjusts work locations and arrangements based on job characteristics and work environment. The policy aims to shift from in-person-centered work practices to remote and digital-based operations to boost efficiency and performance.
"We changed our CI in line with the trends of a new era," a KGC official said. "We will strengthen our global competitiveness and expand our growth foundation through continuous innovation."
