HDC IPARK Development has launched a transit-oriented development project in Gongneung-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul. The company plans to position the project as a key pillar of urban innovation in northeastern Seoul, alongside "Seoul One IPARK," which is being built near Kwangwoon University Station in Wolgye-dong.
HDC IPARK Development said on the 30th that it held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 28th with the Nowon-gu Office for the "Gongneung-dong Transit-Oriented Development Project" covering the area around 375-4 Gongneung-dong.
The project will transform the former KT Gongneung Building site into a two-tower mixed-use complex. The development will comprise approximately 300 residential units combined with commercial, office and public facilities, forming a compact city. Move-in is scheduled for the second half of 2031.
A central feature of the design is an indoor plaza within the complex. The plaza, designed with high ceilings and expansive open spaces, will serve as a community hub accessible to residents regardless of weather conditions. The complex will also house Gongneung 1-dong Community Center, children's welfare facilities and sports facilities within the development.
"This project, together with Seoul One IPARK, will serve as a key pillar of the urban innovation strategy for northeastern Seoul," an HDC IPARK Development official said. "We will create a landmark representing Nowon-gu through IPARK's differentiated specialized design and construction capabilities."
