The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) said Monday it held a "2026 K-Defense Day" event on Sunday in Düsseldorf, Germany, in conjunction with Xponential, Europe's largest unmanned mobility exhibition.
The event was organized to target Western European defense markets, including Germany, which has been sharply increasing its defense budget, building on achievements in Eastern and Northern Europe such as Poland and Estonia.
Eleven promising Korean companies specializing in next-generation defense technologies — including drones, unmanned combat systems and artificial intelligence solutions — participated and held one-on-one meetings with 30 European defense firms to explore export opportunities and technology cooperation.
"K-Defense is now establishing itself as a core security partner trusted by Europe," KOTRA President Kang Kyung-sung said. "We will support our companies in creating strategic synergies with local firms as partners in Europe's security ecosystem."
