GC Green Cross Wellbeing (234690.KQ) surged more than 19% after announcing the launch of an extracellular matrix (ECM) skin booster.
According to the Korea Exchange on the 25th, shares of GC Green Cross Wellbeing closed at 14,680 won, up 2,360 won (+19.16%) from the previous day. The rally is attributed to the company's official announcement of the domestic launch of "Giselle Rebonne," a human tissue-based ECM skin booster.
Giselle Rebonne is an ECM skin booster based on human acellular dermal matrix (hADM), a material derived from human tissue. While conventional skin boosters work indirectly by stimulating collagen production, hADM-based skin boosters directly deliver the ECM structure itself, providing a foundation for tissue remodeling. The product is called a next-generation skin booster because it offers fundamental regenerative effects centered on restoring skin structure.
MS Bio, a company specializing in human tissue and biomaterials, handles the human tissue processing. GC Green Cross Wellbeing manages raw material control and supply through its distribution tissue bank at its Eumseong plant in North Chungcheong Province. The company explained that MS Bio applied its proprietary decellularization process to remove cells and immune response-triggering factors from the tissue, enhancing biocompatibility and minimizing the risk of immune rejection and inflammation.
With this addition, GC Green Cross Wellbeing has built an aesthetic medical portfolio spanning placenta injection "Laennec," dermal fillers, skin boosters, and botulinum toxin "Innovo." The strategy is similar to Hugel's (145020.KQ) recent move to pursue co-promotion with Hans Biomed (042520.KQ), which owns the ECM skin booster "Cellrderm." CG Bio, which also announced plans to officially launch an ECM skin booster in the first half of this year, is expected to pursue package sales alongside Daewoong Pharmaceutical's (069620.KS) botulinum toxin "Nabota" and fat-dissolving injection "V-Olet."
