Lotte Engineering & Construction CEO Oh Il-geun held a gathering with 10 employees whose children are entering elementary school at the company's headquarters "Le'el Lounge" in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, on March 23, the company said Monday.
The selected employees shared a meal with CEO Oh, freely discussing the challenges of parenting and the company's welfare programs during the special occasion.
Earlier in February, Lotte Engineering & Construction had sent congratulatory messages from the CEO, snack gift sets and gift cards for purchasing necessary supplies to 147 children of employees entering elementary school. In his letter, Oh wrote, "Just like your moms and dads who are performing brilliantly at the company, I hope you will be bright and cheerful at school, and that every day of school will be filled with joy."
Some children who received Oh's letter sent replies, and 10 families were selected from among those who participated in the exchange through a special event to attend the gathering.
Oh also selected one grand prize winner and two excellence award winners, presenting them with Lotte Resort accommodation vouchers and Lotte GRS dining vouchers so employees could create memories with their families.
"We are conducting various institutional research to create an optimal working environment that enables employees to achieve a balance between work and family," a Lotte Engineering & Construction official said.
