Specialized artificial intelligence startups and venture capital firms have formed an alliance to strengthen South Korea's manufacturing competitiveness. The group plans to target the global manufacturing AI market by helping embed AI operating system capabilities into Korea's manufacturing sector.
The manufacturing AI consortium "AXMOS" officially launched with participation from AI startups and specialized investors, according to the venture industry on the 23rd. Members include Codepresso (AI), Dreamace (software), Bri (AI), Popup Studio (AI), TransLink Investment (VC), and Wilt Venture Builder (VC).
The AXMOS consortium members recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the launch of a manufacturing AI innovation consortium and global business cooperation. The agreement establishes joint ownership of intellectual property developed through collaboration. Each company agreed to share its expertise in developing manufacturing AI technologies built on the accumulated capabilities of Korea's domestic manufacturing sector.
Codepresso will share its B2B AI transformation experience gained through digital capability training programs for major Korean corporations including Hyundai Mobis, SK Telecom, and LG Electronics. Popup Studio will focus on developing core AI framework and OS technologies. Dreamace, an automotive embedded software company, will operate testbeds at manufacturing sites. Bri will design AI-based smart manufacturing processes and AI task agents.
Singapore-based Wilt Venture Build and Silicon Valley-based TransLink Investment will support the consortium's global business strategy.
Through this partnership, the AXMOS consortium will pursue joint patent filings and expansion into North American and Southeast Asian markets. The group will jointly participate in "Next AI," a manufacturing AI event to be held in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, in the second half of this year. In 2027, the consortium plans to exhibit at CES 2027 in Las Vegas, the world's largest IT trade show, and MODEX in Atlanta, North America's largest manufacturing supply chain exhibition.
