Hanwha Vision (489790.KS) said Wednesday it has signed a strategic partnership with Ambarella, a U.S. semiconductor company that develops AI processing chips used in security cameras, autonomous vehicles, robots and drones, to collaborate on technology development.
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop next-generation system-on-chip (SoC) technology and AI-powered video security solutions. The partnership is expected to combine Hanwha Vision's video processing technology with Ambarella's AI capabilities to deliver advanced AI video security solutions.
The collaboration is also expected to create synergies between Hanwha Group's Tech Solutions and Life Solutions divisions, as the conglomerate is currently pursuing the establishment of a new holding company and a personnel split-off.
Hanwha Vision and other units in the tech division are exploring ways to apply AI video analytics to Life Solutions operations, including hygiene and safety management and customer pattern analysis.
