At-home appliance brand Minix announced on January 13 that sales of its entire food waste processor product line increased 169% year-on-year this winter.
Last year, Minix launched two new products: "The Blender PRO," a 2-liter model designed for one-to-three-person households, and "The Blender MAX," a 3-liter food waste processor suitable for households with four or more members or those with frequent meals. Analysts attribute the accelerating market growth to expanded sales following the new product launches combined with rising demand for food waste processors.
Food waste processors were traditionally considered seasonal appliances with demand concentrated in summer months. However, demand has recently been growing regardless of season, shifting consumer perception toward viewing them as "essential home appliances" used year-round. Winter sales this year increased 54% compared to summer 2024 (June-August).
The Minix "The Blender PRO," launched in March last year, features "Full Auto Care" functionality enabling automatic processing, power saving, and storage. Smart sensors detect food waste volume and automatically handle drying, grinding, storage, and sterilization without pressing buttons. When empty, the unit switches to "auto power-saving" mode to reduce unnecessary electricity consumption. An "auto storage" mode also allows small amounts of food waste to be stored without odor or spoilage concerns.
The Minix "The Blender MAX" maintains the compact palm-sized design Minix has upheld while expanding drying chamber capacity to 3 liters, processing up to 7-8 servings (approximately 1,700g) of food waste. Third-generation blades significantly enhance cutting power, with blade-to-wall clearance narrowed to 1.0mm for finely grinding hard food waste—including abalone shells, animal bones, and hard fruit pits—that conventional processors struggle to handle.
The product also features a triple-activated carbon hard-lock filter with reinforced body-filter coupling structure for improved odor sealing.
"We continue to offer food waste processors in various capacities so consumers can choose products matching their lifestyle and household composition," a Minix representative said. "We plan to further strengthen our position in the food waste processor market through compact products that deliver both performance and design."
