
Samsung C&T's fashion division announced on the 3rd that it has signed an agreement with French fashion company SMCP to secure exclusive domestic distribution rights for Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot, and Fursac.
According to Samsung C&T's fashion division, SMCP has grown on the strength of brands offering trendy designs and reasonable prices relative to high quality. The company currently operates in 49 countries worldwide. Sandro, SMCP's flagship brand, was established in 1984 and offers women's and men's collections combining Parisian chic with modern sensibility. Maje, launched in 1998, is a brand that proposes styles expressing elegance and femininity. Claudie Pierlot, a women's wear brand founded in 1984, was acquired by SMCP in 2009, while men's wear brand Fursac, which started in 1973, was acquired by SMCP in 2019.
Samsung C&T's fashion division will handle domestic offline distribution and online operations for these four brands. The company will distribute through 121 offline stores, including 95 department store locations and 26 outlet stores, and will open dedicated brand shops within its online shopping mall SSF Shop.
"Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot, and Fursac are brands that convey Parisian sensibility based on their distinct identities," said Park Young-mi, Head of Contemporary Business Division at Samsung C&T Fashion. "Through systematic strategies across products, distribution, and marketing, we will further strengthen our position in the domestic contemporary market."
Samsung C&T's fashion division previously achieved success in establishing New York brand Theory in the Korean market after beginning domestic sales in 2007.
