Bodyfriend unveiled its vision on the 3rd to establish AI healthcare robots—combining artificial intelligence and robotics with digital healthcare—as the global standard, marking the company's 19th anniversary.
Since its founding on March 3, 2007, Bodyfriend has evolved into a healthcare robot company by developing its proprietary robotics technology over 19 years. Its robotics technology, which delivers massage through full-body movement including independent operation of both legs and arms, helped the company capture approximately 50% of the domestic healthcare robot market last year. In overseas markets, the company achieved over 100% year-over-year growth through healthcare robot technology exports.
This year, the company plans to accelerate growth by building a diverse lineup of AI healthcare robots. The wearable AI healthcare robot "733," set for imminent release, provides optimal massage programs through user body data and big data analysis. The device also features the world's first fortune-based customized massage function, recommending massages suited to users' current condition and fortune trends. "Da Vinci AI," launched in January, incorporates PPG (photoplethysmography) sensors with AI healthcare programs to measure heart rate, heart rate variability, and blood oxygen saturation levels to assess fatigue.
"Through 100 billion won in R&D investment over the past five years and securing 2,274 intellectual property rights, we are creating a new market for AI healthcare robots and establishing ourselves as the global standard," said Bodyfriend co-CEOs Kwak Do-yeon and Kim Chul-hwan. "Going forward, we will position ourselves not only as a healthcare robot manufacturer but as a healthcare platform technology export company that provides core technologies to global manufacturers through licensing."
Meanwhile, various events were held at Bodyfriend's Dogok Tower on the 3rd to celebrate the 19th anniversary with employees, including a team video contest, congratulatory message board, appreciation gift giveaways, and a food festival.
