
BOSS Semiconductor, a startup specializing in high-performance artificial intelligence system-on-chip (SoC) design for mobility applications, announced on the 23rd that it has raised 87 billion won (approximately $60 million) in Series A funding.
Existing investors including Atinum Investment, Partners Investment, Stik Ventures, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, and K&Investment Partners participated in the follow-on round. New investors joining the round include Korea Development Bank, KB Investment, Smilegate Investment, UAMCO-PI Partners, Shinyoung Securities-BSK Investment, Woori Venture Partners, HB Investment, and E&Venture Partners.
Founded in May 2022, BOSS Semiconductor is a fabless company developing AI semiconductor solutions for autonomous driving and in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. The company now has more than 300 employees including subsidiaries and expects to complete mass-production sample design of its high-performance AI accelerator "Eagle-N" in the first half of this year.
The flagship Eagle-N is a core semiconductor capable of rapidly running various AI workloads within vehicles. BOSS Semiconductor has built technical credibility by releasing demo videos on its official website showing actual models running, including vision language models (VLM) and large language models (LLM). The follow-up product "Eagle-A," an AI SoC for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), is also in the pipeline.
The company plans to deploy the newly raised capital primarily toward Eagle-N mass production and building a global sales network. The strategy focuses initially on the Chinese market, where the electric vehicle and autonomous driving sectors are experiencing rapid growth, with plans to expand into physical AI markets including robotics and drones.
