SK Intellix reported a 94.3% year-over-year decline in fourth-quarter operating profit, citing costs associated with the launch of its wellness robot "Namu X."
The company disclosed on the 9th that operating profit for the fourth quarter of last year fell to 1.2 billion won, down 94.3% from the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the quarter declined 2.3% to 203.5 billion won.
Domestic and overseas rental accounts also decreased. Domestic rental accounts fell by 30,000 to 2.36 million, compared to 2.3 million in the year-ago quarter. Cumulative global accounts, including in the Malaysian market, also edged down slightly year-over-year to 228,000.
"Operating profit declined in the fourth quarter due to the impact of Namu X launch costs," SK Intellix said. "Going forward, we will expand into various wellness service areas based on Namu X's differentiated technology."
