Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) will pay employees performance bonuses of up to 100% of their base monthly salary for the second half of this year.
The company announced the payout rates for its Target Achievement Incentive (TAI) through its internal network on Wednesday, with payments scheduled for January 24.
TAI is one of Samsung Electronics' performance bonus programs, paid twice a year based on evaluations of business divisions and units, with a maximum payout of 100% of monthly base salary.
The memory division was allocated a 100% TAI rate, a sharp increase from the 25% paid in the first half of this year. The improvement appears to reflect stronger performance in the second half as the company expanded its HBM customer base and benefited from rising commodity DRAM prices driven by increased artificial intelligence infrastructure investment. Securities analysts estimate the memory division's operating profit will grow from approximately 6.35 trillion won in the first half to more than 23 trillion won in the second half, approaching 30 trillion won for the full year.
Within the Device Solutions (DS) division, System LSI was allocated 25%, foundry 25%, and the semiconductor research center 100%.
In the Device Experience (DX) division, the Visual Display (VD) and home appliance units were each allocated 37.5% of monthly base salary.
The Mobile Experience (MX) division received the highest rate among business units at 75%, reflecting strong sales of the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 7 launched in the second half. The medical device division was also allocated 75%, as was the network division.
