The "2026 Stock Market Festival," an annual event celebrating the Korean capital market's growth and the nation's economic development in the Year of the Red Horse, will be held at the front yard of Korea Exchange's main building in Yeouido, Seoul, at 10 a.m. on January 2, shortly after the stock market opens.
Launched in 2000 under the motto "A thriving stock market means a thriving economy," the festival marks its 26th edition next year and has become a symbolic event signaling the New Year's first trading day for the Korean stock market.
Heads of financial regulatory agencies and CEOs of securities firms and asset management companies will attend to wish for the capital market's continued growth. The event will feature an unveiling ceremony of large symbolic sculptures of a bull and a red horse.
Starting from next year's event, a new "Bull Mask Performance" — a modern reinterpretation of the traditional bull symbol — will replace the use of a real bull. The new format aims to preserve traditional symbolism while expressing strong aspirations for a bull market in the new year.
We invite financial investment industry professionals and investors to join us in supporting the revival of the Korean stock market.
