Pulmuone announced on January 12 that it has appointed Cheon Young-hoon, head of the sales division, as the new CEO of Pulmuone Foods, while also promoting 10 executives across its affiliates including the parent company.
Cheon, the newly appointed CEO, graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in animal science and earned a master's degree in marketing from Sogang University. After joining Pulmuone Foods in 2019, he served as head of sales and head of the overall sales division, where he is credited with driving profit growth through stable organizational management and strategic execution. Lee Woo-bong, the group CEO who had been concurrently serving as Pulmuone Foods CEO, will now directly lead the newly established Future Business Division to pursue future business initiatives while overseeing all domestic and international operations.
Pulmuone explained that it carried out the executive promotions to strengthen business unit accountability, secure new growth engines for the future through AX (AI Transformation) innovation, and advance toward becoming the global No. 1 sustainable food and lifestyle company. In line with this, the company is also establishing an AX Innovation Unit. Kim Sung-hoon, head of Pulmuone's Digital Innovation Unit, will lead the new AX Innovation Unit. Kim earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Ajou University and a master's degree in management information systems from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. He worked as a cloud business expert at IBM Korea from 2006 before joining Pulmuone in 2020, where he served as head of the Digital Innovation Unit, driving AI and data-based work innovation and building the foundation for company-wide AX transformation.
Pulmuone also announced the promotion of newly appointed Pulmuone Foods CEO Cheon, Pulmuone Food & Culture CEO Lee Dong-hoon, and Pulmuone Technology Institute Director Kim Tae-seok to E3 (president-level) positions, who will work alongside group CEO Lee Woo-bong on key management initiatives.
