Samsung SDI (006400.KS) has secured a major contract to supply LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries for energy storage systems to a large U.S. energy company.
Samsung SDI announced Thursday that its U.S. subsidiary, Samsung SDI America, has signed a multi-year agreement with a U.S. energy infrastructure development and operation company to supply LFP batteries for ESS applications.
The contract is valued at more than 2 trillion won ($1.4 billion), with deliveries scheduled over approximately three years starting in 2027.
