Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center is working to build an investment network connecting deep tech startups in the robotics sector with investors in the capital region.
The center announced Thursday that it held the G-Startup Invest Bridge Spark IR Program at Nine Tree Premier Rocaus Hotel in Seoul on Wednesday, aimed at helping growth-stage startups secure investment from the capital region.
The event was organized in collaboration with regional startup support agencies, angel investment associations, angel investment hubs, major accelerators and venture capital firms. The program is designed to connect growth-stage startups with the capital region's investment ecosystem.
Four companies from the deep tech sector participated in the event. Approximately 30 attendees including company representatives, capital region investors and agency officials reviewed and evaluated the companies' technological competitiveness and growth potential.
During the IR demo day, companies directly presented their technologies, market strategies and future growth plans to investors. The presentations were followed by various evaluations and questions from investors, giving companies an opportunity to review their business models and strategic direction based on the feedback.
INTIMS Industry won the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center Representative Award for its presentation on developing a sterile environment automation robot system for bio-pharmaceutical processes using vapor hydrogen peroxide (VHP) resistant technology.
Following the IR presentations, one-on-one matching sessions were held between investors and companies. Startups engaged in in-depth discussions on market potential, business expansion possibilities and investment suitability. Some companies confirmed potential investment connections by arranging follow-up meetings and additional reviews.
"This program provided an important opportunity for regional deep tech startups to connect directly with capital region investors," said Noh Chung-sik, CEO of Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center. "We will continue to expand opportunities for growth-stage startups to advance beyond Korea into global markets."
