On Monday the 20th, most of the country will continue to experience sweltering heat with feels-like temperatures exceeding 30°C, while strong and heavy rain will fall mainly in the central regions.
Morning lows are forecast at 22–26°C, with daytime highs of 26–33°C. The nation will be generally cloudy with rain in some areas, and the hot and humid weather will keep temperatures high.
With heat warnings in effect for parts of the Chungcheong region, the southern regions, and Jeju Island, maximum feels-like temperatures across most of the country are expected to exceed 31°C. In areas under heat warnings, maximum feels-like temperatures will rise to around 33°C, and Jeju Island is expected to reach around 35°C. Tropical night warnings are in effect for the Jeolla region, the South Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island, where temperatures will remain above 25°C in some places even at night.
Rain will ease in some parts of the southern regions, but heavy rain will fall in the central regions. In particular, strong rain of 20–30mm per hour is expected along the western coast of South Chungcheong from late night into morning.
Expected rainfall is 20–60mm in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi; 5–20mm on the five West Sea islands; 5–40mm in Gangwon's inland and mountainous areas; 5–20mm along Gangwon's East Sea coast; and 20–80mm in Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong, and North Chungcheong. Gwangju, South Jeolla, and North Jeolla will see 5–40mm; central and northern North Gyeongsang 20–60mm; Daegu and southern North Gyeongsang 5–40mm; inland South Gyeongsang 5–20mm; Ulleungdo and Dokdo 5–10mm; and Jeju Island 5–20mm.
Fine dust levels are expected to range from "good" to "moderate" across all regions.
Waves in the coastal waters of the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea will rise to 0.5–1.0m. In the inner offshore waters (within about 200km of the coastline), wave heights are expected to reach 0.5–2.0m in the East Sea and 0.5–1.5m in the West Sea and South Sea.
