Pianist Lee Ju-eon, who has drawn attention from the global classical music scene after winning this year's Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, will meet audiences with a recital in September.
Lee will hold a piano recital at Geoam Art Hall on Sept. 19 at 4 p.m. Having emerged as a next-generation pianist through a string of recent international competition wins, he plans to present a more matured musical world through a high-difficulty repertoire at this performance.
The program begins with Beethoven's "Piano Sonata No. 23, 'Appassionata,'" followed by Scriabin's "Fantasy in B minor, Op. 28," and Liszt's "Piano Sonata in B minor, S. 178." All three works are representative piano repertoire that demand not only outstanding technique but also profound musical interpretation and rich expressiveness.
In particular, Beethoven's "Appassionata" is well known for its dramatic contrasts and intense energy, Scriabin's "Fantasy" for its mysterious harmonies and lyricism, and Liszt's B minor sonata for its grand structure and overwhelming scale. This recital is expected to be a stage where audiences can see how Lee, whose skills have been recognized on the international stage, will unravel these masterworks through his own interpretation.
