The National Museum of World Writing Systems, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will host the "MoW Summer Classic Concert," a classical performance for the whole family, in celebration of the summer vacation, the museum said Monday.
The concert is structured as a "World Music Journey" themed around France, Britain and the United States, and Austria. It will feature performances by the Korean National Symphony Orchestra Academy Ensemble, with commentary by classical music presenter Na Woong-jun. The concerts will be held three times in total—on July 12, July 18, and August 22, each at 2 p.m.—in the first-floor lobby of the National Museum of World Writing Systems in Songdo, Incheon.
The first concert, themed around France, will take place on July 12. Audiences can enjoy familiar pieces capturing the sensibilities of French cinema and classical music, such as "Reality," the OST from the film "La Boum," and Debussy's "Clair de Lune," performed by a string quartet and a woodwind quintet.
The second concert, set against the backdrop of Britain and the United States, will be held on July 18. Performed by a string quartet and a brass quintet, this session will present Elgar's "Salut d'Amour" as well as the OSTs from the films "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Indiana Jones," offering a stage where audiences can enjoy both classical and popular music.
The final concert, themed around Austria, will be held on August 22. Performed by a string quintet and a clarinet quintet, this session will feature works by classical masters, including Mozart's "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star Variations," Schubert's "Serenade," and Johann Strauss II's "Voices of Spring Waltz."
