Most of the country will see heat near 30 degrees Celsius on Thursday, June 2, with scattered showers expected mainly across inland areas.
Morning lows are forecast at 15 to 22 degrees, with daytime highs of 24 to 31 degrees. Seoul, Daegu, Suwon and Daejeon will be hot, with daytime temperatures rising to around 30 degrees.
The Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province will be mostly cloudy, while other regions will be generally overcast.
Showers will fall in northern Gangwon in the morning. Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi, along with Gangwon, Chungcheong, eastern North Jeolla, North Gyeongsang and the northwestern part of South Gyeongsang, will see rain from the afternoon through the night. On Jeju Island, rain is expected from morning to midday.
Expected rainfall is 5 to 60mm in Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi; 5 to 60mm in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon; around 5mm along the central and northern East Coast of Gangwon; 5 to 40mm in Daejeon, Sejong, eastern South Chungcheong and North Chungcheong; 5 to 40mm in eastern North Jeolla; 5 to 40mm in central and northern inland areas and southwestern inland areas of Daegu and North Gyeongsang; and 5 to 20mm in the northwestern inland part of South Gyeongsang. Jeju Island is expected to see less than 5mm of rain.
Fine dust levels will range from "good" to "moderate" nationwide.
Waves along the coast will reach 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the South Sea.
In the near-open seas (within about 200km of the coastline), wave heights are expected at 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
