Everland, operated by Samsung C&T's Resort Division, will hold a special event called "Choncance Night Market" over two months in July and August to mark the summer vacation and holiday season, the company said Wednesday.
The event is the summer-themed installment of "Whatever Series," Everland's monthly curation project that introduces new attractions each month. During the day, visitors can enjoy an experience zone themed around a rural village, while in the evening they can explore a night market offering street food from around the world.
Throughout July, Everland will offer ticket discounts to customers who visit wearing retro "choncance" pants. Those wearing pants with a countryside vacation concept, such as floral or polka-dot patterns, can enter Everland for 25,000 won, more than 50% below the regular price. They will also receive priority admission to the "Loui & Hui's Choncance" themed experience zone, which opens on the 4th.
The choncance theme zone, set up in the Festival Content Zone, is decorated around a story in which twin pandas Fu Bao's sisters Loui Bao and Hui Bao set off on a healing trip to the countryside. At the entrance, a village community hall with a rural house atmosphere is installed, along with a photo zone where visitors can take pictures against backdrops featuring watermelons and images of Loui Bao and Hui Bao.
At a wooden platform in the backyard, visitors can rest or enjoy board games. Experience missions are also available. At the eerie "Ghost Train," visitors must complete missions within a time limit, while at "Fun Farm," they can enjoy a ball cannon shooting game aimed at sparrow dolls. Those who collect all the mission stamps can receive a Bao Village honorary resident card, provided in limited quantities each day.
At "Bao Store," designed with a rural convenience store concept, limited-edition "Loui & Hui's Every Corner of Korea" goods are sold. The project is built around a story in which the twin pandas, set to move to China, embark on a trip across the country. Their first destination is Jeolla Province, with more than 30 new products featuring the summer choncance theme on offer. The goods can also be purchased at Grand Emporium and Panda World Shop.
Holland Village will transform into a night market starting on the 3rd. Under the concept of "a global culinary journey without a passport," it will sell street food from around the world every evening. Visitors can enjoy Wooirak fried chili peppers, a popular menu item at Mangwon Market, and buldak omelets that have gone viral on social media, along with American-style pizza, barbecue platters, chili and cream shrimp, and yakisoba, paired with beers from around the world.
At the night market, a photo time will also be held where visitors can take pictures with "Bagel," a character from Lenny & Friends. DJ performances will be held on a small stage, adding to the summer night atmosphere. Near Holland Village, the "Moonlight Parade" and the multimedia fireworks show "Guardians of Light" will also continue.
In July, a birthday event for the panda family "Bao Family" will also be held. The birthday of twin pandas Loui Bao and Hui Bao, celebrating their last birthday in Korea, falls on the 7th. Ai Bao's birthday is on the 13th, Fu Bao's on the 20th, and Le Bao's on the 28th. Everland plans to hold related events, such as presenting limited-edition commemorative badges to visitors on each birthday.
