Rain will fall on Wednesday, centered on Jeju and the southern regions. Brief afternoon showers are forecast for the northern Seoul metropolitan area and the central and northern inland areas of Gangwon.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, rain will continue on Jeju Island from morning through the night. Rain is also expected in some areas of southern North Jeolla Province, the South Jeolla region, southern North Gyeongsang Province, and the South Gyeongsang region between dawn and evening.
Expected rainfall is 50-100 millimeters on Jeju Island. Some areas may see more than 120 millimeters, with mountainous areas receiving more than 180 millimeters. Southern South Jeolla is forecast to receive 20-60 millimeters (more than 80 millimeters along the western and southern coasts of southern South Jeolla). Gwangju, northern South Jeolla, Busan, and the southern coast of South Gyeongsang are expected to see 5-40 millimeters, while southern North Jeolla, Ulsan, inland South Gyeongsang, Daegu, and southern North Gyeongsang are forecast to receive 5-20 millimeters.
Expected rainfall in Seoul, Incheon, and northern Gyeonggi, where showers are forecast, is 5-60 millimeters. The central and northern inland areas of Gangwon will see 5-40 millimeters of rain.
Morning lows are forecast at 17-22 degrees. Daytime highs will rise to between 24 and 33 degrees.
Waves in nearby coastal waters will reach 0.5-2.0 meters in the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5-1.0 meters in the West Sea. In open waters within about 200 kilometers of the coastline, waves are expected to reach 0.5-2.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5-2.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5-3.5 meters in the South Sea.
