Showers accompanied by gusty winds, thunder and lightning will fall mainly across inland areas Friday, June 26.
Morning lows are forecast at 15-20 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs of 23-30 degrees. Seoul, where temperatures reached only 23.9 degrees the previous day, will climb back up to 30 degrees. Gwangju, Daejeon and Daegu will each rise to 29-30 degrees, warmer than the day before.
In the afternoon, showers will fall in scattered areas across the southern inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon, northern North Chungcheong, the Gyeongbuk region (excluding the East Coast), Ulsan, and the central and eastern inland areas of South Gyeongsang.
Expected rainfall is 5-20mm in the southern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, northern North Chungcheong, the inland and northeastern mountainous areas of Daegu and North Gyeongsang, and the central and eastern inland areas of Ulsan and South Gyeongsang. However, some inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, where showers will continue until dawn, may see heavy rain of up to 80mm or more.
With the showers, strong gusts and hail will occur in some areas, so caution is needed in managing facilities and preventing safety accidents.
The central region will be mostly cloudy before gradually clearing from the morning, while the southern region and Jeju Island will see occasional heavy clouds.
Fine dust levels will be "good" across all regions.
Waves will reach 0.5-2.5m in nearshore waters of the East Sea, 0.5-1.0m in the West Sea, and 0.5-2.0m in the South Sea. In offshore waters (within about 200km of the coastline), wave heights are expected to reach 0.5-3.5m in the East Sea, 0.5-1.5m in the West Sea, and 0.5-2.5m in the South Sea.
