Celltrion has moved to expand global partnerships at BIO USA, the world's largest biotech event, showcasing next-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI)-based drug development, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and multispecific antibodies. The company is accelerating efforts to secure future growth drivers while broadening its footing as a drug developer beyond biosimilars.
Celltrion (068270.KS) said Friday that it held more than 180 business meetings with global pharmaceutical and biotech companies at the "2026 BIO International Convention (BIO USA)," held in San Diego from the 22nd to the 25th. This was the largest number of meetings since Celltrion began participating in BIO USA.
At the event, researchers in the ADC and multispecific antibody drug fields met directly with global companies to discuss co-development and technology cooperation. The company also actively introduced its AI drug development capabilities, including AI-based discovery of new targets, design of next-generation multispecific antibodies, assessment of development feasibility, and data-based research platforms.
Interest in the AI-powered drug research platform was particularly high. Celltrion uses AI to discover new targets, design candidate substances, and assess development feasibility, while building a data-based research platform to improve R&D efficiency.
The company also expanded cooperation to strengthen production competitiveness. It held discussions with raw material, components, and equipment companies on production efficiency and technology advancement, and plans to continue follow-up discussions after the event to develop them into strategic collaborations.
During the event, more than 2,000 visitors came to Celltrion's booth, showing the highest level of interest to date. The company exhibited content introducing its AI-based drug development strategy and future growth vision, and actively promoted the point that it is securing competitiveness in the drug field beyond biosimilars.
"At this BIO USA, we confirmed global interest not only in existing biosimilars but also in next-generation growth drivers such as ADCs, multispecific antibodies, and AI-based drug development," a Celltrion official said. "We plan to connect the partnering opportunities discovered at the event to concrete cooperation and continue strengthening our business competitiveness."
