
Tuesday will bring hot weather across the country, with showers expected in some areas.
In the afternoon, rain is expected in the northern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, the southeastern part of North Jeolla, and Gwangju and the northern part of South Jeolla. Some areas of Jeju Island will see rain from late afternoon until early Thursday. Expected rainfall is 5 to 20 millimeters for the northern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, 5 to 10 millimeters for the southeastern part of North Jeolla and Gwangju and the northern part of South Jeolla, and around 5 millimeters for Jeju Island.
Many areas, mainly inland regions nationwide, will experience hot weather as the maximum heat index rises to around 31 degrees on this day. Morning lows are forecast at 14 to 21 degrees, with daytime highs of 24 to 34 degrees.
Sea waves will reach 0.5 to 1.0 meters off the eastern and southern coasts and 0.5 meters off the western coast. Wave heights in the inner offshore areas (open waters within about 200 kilometers of the coastline) are expected to reach 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East Sea and West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
