On Wednesday, daytime temperatures will climb to around 30°C across the country, with scattered showers in some areas amid the continuing heat.
Morning lows are forecast at 16-22°C, while daytime highs will range from 24-31°C. Most regions will see hot weather near 30°C, with daytime temperatures reaching 31°C in Seoul, Suwon, Cheongju and Daegu. The heat is expected to persist for the time being, so people should take care of their health.
From the morning through early Thursday, showers are likely in the Seoul metropolitan area, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, inland Chungcheong, the Jeolla region and the Gyeongsang region. In parts of Jeju Island, rain will continue into the night. Areas receiving showers may experience gusty winds along with thunder and lightning, and hail may fall in some areas. Expected rainfall is 5-40mm in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, Daejeon, North Jeolla and Daegu.
The country will see occasional cloudy skies, while Jeju Island will be mostly overcast. Fine dust concentration levels will range from "good" to "moderate" across all regions.
Waves will rise 0.5-1.5m in the coastal waters of the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5m in the coastal waters of the West Sea. Wave heights in the inner offshore waters (within about 200km of the coastline) are expected to reach 0.5-1.5m in the East Sea, West Sea and South Sea.
