Jeju Province and the Jeju Tourism Organization have launched two campaigns simultaneously to ease tourists' food and transportation costs. Travelers who use local restaurants and electric vehicle (EV) rentals can each receive benefits worth 20,000 won.
Visit Two Restaurants for 20,000 Won; First 1,800 on First-Come Basis
According to Jeju Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Tourism Organization, the "Jeju Value-for-Money Restaurant Travel Certification Campaign" and the "Eco-Friendly EV Rental Jeju Travel Campaign" both began Monday.
Under the value-for-money restaurant campaign, tourists aged 18 or older who visit two designated restaurants and submit two paper receipts and two social media (SNS) reviews can receive either a 20,000 won Tamna Jeon voucher or a 20,000 won voucher for the Jeju Tourism Organization's Jungmun Duty Free Shop.
The benefit is limited to the first 1,800 applicants, and the campaign is reported to conclude when the prepared rewards run out. Around 780 restaurants are eligible for participation, including fair-price establishments, century-old small-business restaurants, local cuisine restaurants, designated restaurants of excellent tourism businesses, and Jeju model restaurants.
SNS reviews must include the hashtags "#VisitJeju," "#JejuValueForMoneyRestaurant," and "#JejuLocalRestaurant" along with the relevant restaurant's name hashtag, and must be verifiable on site. The certification process can be completed at the information desk of the Jeju Tourism Organization's Jungmun Duty Free Shop.
Ride an EV for 20,000 Won, Plus Carbon Neutrality
Benefits have also been prepared for tourists who use EV rentals. Tourists who rent an EV during their stay and sign up for Jeju's digital tourism pass "NOWDA" can receive a 20,000 won Tamna Jeon voucher or a 20,000 won Jungmun Duty Free Shop voucher by visiting the Jungmun Duty Free Shop with their rental contract and identification. This campaign runs on a first-come basis until the budget is exhausted.
According to the 2025 survey of tourists visiting Jeju released by the Jeju Tourism Organization, the rate at which domestic tourists used regular rental cars reached 81.9 percent, while the rate of those choosing EV rentals stood at only 2.3 percent.
Jeju Province and the Jeju Tourism Organization plan to use these campaigns to raise EV usage while encouraging both reduced travel costs and the practice of carbon neutrality.
Amid continued criticism that the local economy has been slow to recover despite a recent rise in visitors, an official from the Jeju Tourism Organization said, "We are preparing various support programs so that tourists can enjoy traveling in Jeju at more reasonable costs," adding, "We hope this will also help revitalize the local economy and expand eco-friendly tourism."
