
Tuesday will bring heavy rain to southern regions of South Korea, while central areas will swelter under daytime temperatures climbing above 30 degrees Celsius.
Morning lows are expected to range from 13 to 20 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between 23 and 33 degrees Celsius. Central regions and North Jeolla Province will see daytime temperatures rise above 30 degrees Celsius. Seoul's daytime high is forecast to reach 33 degrees Celsius, marking the hottest day of the year so far.
Strong and heavy rainfall is expected in the South Jeolla and South Gyeongsang regions, as well as on Jeju Island. Over the two days from Monday to Tuesday, expected precipitation totals 20 to 60mm in Gwangju and South Jeolla, 20 to 60mm in Busan, Ulsan and South Gyeongsang, and 30 to 80mm on Jeju Island. The southern part of North Jeolla is forecast to receive 5 to 20mm, the northern part of North Jeolla around 5mm, and Daegu and southern North Gyeongsang 5 to 10mm. Light rain of less than 0.1mm is expected in some areas of South Chungcheong, southern North Chungcheong, and central and northern North Gyeongsang from late dawn through the morning.
Wave heights are expected to reach 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the coastal waters of the West Sea. In the inner offshore waters (within approximately 200km of the coastline), waves are forecast at 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 5.0 meters in the South Sea.
